Speak Yourself : #3 The Last Lap

Funny isn't it?
how those few inches upward
towards sunshine, freedom & joy
that last lap
feels, like eons passing stuck,
to her now!

She wonders when, did
the dark became her comfort
the struggle, her identity..
the underground, her home..

She doubts asking, for
the once desired warmth
the open space above
strangely, now
seems confining somehow
her growth on the other side
seems unreal, with no real know-how!

She finds though, that
the desire to go high,
the dream to reach the Sky
still exists in those genes of hers
roots urging, shoots soaring
straight-up she veers..

Concluding thoughts:
Dream or the idea of success is  propelling once the first lap begins.
Despite roadblocks the returns or the rewards keeps us going on this journey.
The last lap, strangely is the most hardest part of the whole process coz it's the time when all doubts and fears start to pop up, questioning the process, if the initial desire for the promised rewards still lives in our hearts, most times, keeping it alive is a challenge!
