Speak Yourself #11 : Flight And Fall

She stood proud, tall
towering over the maze wall, though never
not even her, in all her glory
did she see the whole of
the Labyrinth, a wonder
only a part she saw evolve,
steady, around her!

Daedalus, wise and wiry,
contrived, putting it together
for a cause, yet
for all his wisdom
failing to foresee
his prized art, his genius craft
was to become
his very own prison!

A man, alike Daedalus, though easily imprisoned
caging his craft is impossible
He glues her, the wood
with wax and feathers,
a pair of makeshift wings
To her, Daedalus sings of freedom
while Icarus sings of glory
She, torn between the two,
a part of her flies,
yet the other falls
as she marvels
over, if she escaped the Labyrinth
Or actually entered it, for real?
Coz she's never felt this lost before!

Concluding thoughts -
Life is said to be a maze, easy to get lost, but isn't what actually makes us lost is not the maze itself, but our own internal identity struggle! In this case our tree is conflicted of moving ahead or growing higher/taller! This one tries to capture the moment when one is pulled from multiple directions at same time.. Flight and fall both happening simultaneously!
