Art form #6 : Betende Hände

Preface :
For me, praying has never been a religious ritual but it has been a method that helped me differentiate between things that are in my control and those that are not! It has been a way to ask for assistance when required.

Art form #6 : Betende Hände

The soap lather and
the sliding water droplets,
reflect the neon light
back on the wall mirror
With a paper towel drying
a distinct whiff of a disinfectant
off my palms
thinking to myself
this pair of hands
are nothing but
a puppet of the mind
enclosing the heart
sometimes in a fist
giving, taking
loving, hurting
unknowingly
stuck in between
the mind and the heart's
ensuing tug-of-war
though always extended
always working
for a future,
unknown, uncertain..
Today grappled with fear
the mind and the heart
desires to wash this pair of hands
off their silly wars
for once
the enemy is not humane
for once
they need praying hands 🙏
