The Winds Of Change

Drying leaves rustle,

Swaying family of thistle,

Thinning wisps out of kettle,

Strolling at leisure, winds whistle.

Speeding past a sluggish turtle,

Blowing by the feasting cattle,

Stirring up the birds nestle,

Running pell-mell, winds chortle.

Seeming gentle but subtle,

Switching to a sudden jostle,

Testing time's mantle and mettle, 

Alternating amid extremes, winds shuttle.
